pics and product review

well, i was using wooden dowel rods from Home Depot as perch's for my little one, RD12129. at some point they needed to be disinfected so i soaked them in my bleach solution, same mixture i use to disinfect everything else. only the wooden dowels are porous, and thus took forever to dry out and made me very uncomfortable to reuse afterwards. so obviously i needed better perches. after searching everywhere and coming up empty handed i sent a friendly e-mail to Rico. the email basically asked him from where he purchased the materials to fab up his own perches. he responded with the source and i went straight there and made my purchases..

United States Plastic Corp.

so i ordered 5/8 hexagon shaped solid PVC plastic rods, and 1/4 round solid PVC plastic rods. these rods had to be purchased in a 10' minimum, which was perfect and going to allow me to make enough perches for all 9 tubs i have.

here i have cut the two different sized rods to length, then drill and assemble.

this is my little guy on the newly made perch. the edges of the hex shape allow for some grip and aid in shedding. isn't he so cute!?

in the tub :)

so i have actually been useing the perch materials for about a week now. thay are working great. the PVC material is perfect fo this application! so product review? i say its an A+

now this is my man Gorgeous George! a beautiful Hi Yellow animal with an amazing pedigree. he is being shy and wouldn't show his face for this picture..

a little nudging got a face shot however.. every time i see this guy, i am amazed at how beautiful he is. he is just stunning!

now, its tax time here in the USA and i hope to acquire a few new animals and some new cages with my tax moneys, provided i don't have to pay in. i have a few animals picked out, and with some luck i will be able to add them to the collection. :)

until next time.
